Chamber to host
tax workshop
The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will host a tax workshop on Tuesday, Aug. 24th, featuring guests from the CNMI Division of Revenue and Taxation, the Guam Department of Revenue & Taxation and the Internal Revenue Service.
This is the first time that representatives from all three government agencies will meet to provide one comprehensive question and answer session about their respective tax jurisdictions.
The workshop will focus on Form 1040 or 1040CM Individual Income Tax Return and is designed to address issues in filing returns when income is earned both inside and outside of the region.
Although the workshop is geared for Certified Public Accountants, tax practitioners, and staff accountants, interested individuals are encouraged to attend.
The workshop’s panelists are Revenue and Taxation Director Rufo T. Mafnas, legal counsel Deborah Covington, special consultant Rufin Inos, acting Deputy Tax Commissioner Joseph Bamba from Government Guam Department of Revenue and Taxation, and Internal Revenue Service Disclosure Officer Stephen Flesner.
The Chamber is requesting participants to submit questions in advance.
The last day for pre-registration and submission of questions is on Aug. 20th.
The workshop will be held on Aug. 24th at Aqua Resort Club and will start at 8:30 am.
Workshop fee is $30 for Chamber members and $35 for non-members. Chamber members who will register late will be charged $40 and $45 for non-members. Discounts will be available to companies who will send more than one participant.
