A town meeting has been scheduled by the United NMI Association on May 11 at 7 PM at the Carolinian Utt to discuss among others, plans by the government to install seismic monitoring device on critical sites in the Northern Islands.

The group has invited a representative of the Seismic Section of the Emergency Management Office to update members of the installation of the equipment.

“As far as we are concerned, this remains our #1 priority issue because we truly believe that installing such monitoring devices is key to the safe resettlement of the Northern Islands,” said its president, Cinta Matagolai Kaipat.

“Another issue we are very much interested in is an update on the Alamagan issue,” she said in a letter to acting EMO director Greg Deleon Guerrero.

All organization members and friends, all past and present North Islanders, and any other interested persons are invited to attend this very important town meeting.

For information, contact Kaipat at 664-5498.
