A surface trough will trigger isolated thunderstorms through Wednesday night, while gentle winds will gradually veer northeast to southeast by Thursday. Combined seas of 6 to 8 feet will subside to 4 to 7 feet on Thursday.

A high surf advisory remains in effect until 3pm Thursday, according to the CNMI Homeland Security Emergency Management.

Hazardous surf of 7 to 10 feet will persist along west facing reefs through at least today, Wednesday. Surf will gradually diminish starting tonight and may fall below hazardous levels as early as Thursday afternoon.

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid boating in these conditions. If travel by boat is necessary, avoid venturing near exposed reefs and beaches, especially those along west facing reefs, as rip currents are life threatening.
