The Department of Finance released yesterday morning the third batch of child tax credit checks totaling $450,000.

Finance Secretary Larrisa Larson told Saipan Tribune they have by now already released $4 million to $5 million in child tax money.

“We released everyone who is cleared in the system that filed as of April 15,” Larson said.

She said right now they are working on those people who filed after the deadline and those who asked for extensions.

The Finance secretary said they are also correcting the records of those people who come in to clear their errors.

For refund and rebates, Larson estimates that close to $4 million or $5 million has already been distributed by now.

Last June 14, Finance released the first batch of refund, rebate, and child tax credit checks for calendar year 2013, totaling nearly $5 million for almost 6,700 taxpayers. The administration released the checks over a month earlier than originally anticipated.
