Jehovah’s Witnesses invite public to annual convention
Jehovah’s Witnesses are inviting all of their neighbors to attend their annual convention to be held at the Marianas High School Gymnasium. The theme of this year’s program is “Keep Seeking First God’s Kingdom!”
Hoon Ahn, a convention spokesman, states: “In a discourse in Galilee, Jesus Christ urged his hearers: ‘Keep on seeking first God’s Kingdom!’ This convention will explain what that Kingdom is and how it can be a positive influence in our lives. The program will highlight a central theme of the Bible and two core beliefs of Jehovah’s Witnesses: that God’s Kingdom was established in 1914 and that Jesus Christ is the King of that Kingdom. Really, the convention marks the centennial of God’s Kingdom.”
He adds: “In the last three weeks, Jehovah’s Witnesses on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota have been personally inviting their neighbors to attend this remarkable event. We warmly invite you to attend and benefit from this three-day convention.”
The convention will be held at the Marianas High School Gymnasium and will begin Friday, July 18, 2014, at 9:20am. There is no admission fee. Conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses are supported entirely by voluntary donations.
An estimated 400 will come for the Bible-based program on Saipan. Jehovah’s Witnesses in Micronesia plan to host conventions on nine islands. Worldwide, there are over 7,900,000 Witnesses in more than 113,000 congregations. (PR)
