Saipan TV Hustlers dominate Tuesday League
Saipan TV Hustlers lorded it over in the Tuesday League division of the 2014 Saipan Billiards Association’s 8-Ball League.
The Rowell Mariano-captained squad topped both the regular season and Budweiser Cup of the winter/spring edition of the league, besting four other teams. Joining Mariano on the champion group are Jerry Soriano, Senen Pangilinan, Joey Lucido, Robert Sanciangco, and Erwin Gomez. Saipan TV Production and Bammy’s Restaurant are the team’s sponsors.

Saipan TV Hustlers prevailed against second finisher Jokers IT&E Voyagers and Jonny’s Crazy 8. The runners-up are captained by Rolly Villanueva, while other members include Nolan Cultura, Romand Rodriguez, R.J. Mascarinas, Juancho Mendoza, Chester Cuento, and Joshua Woodson. Rodel Dela Cruz is the captain for the third finisher Crazy 8, which has Warlee Ellama, Rey Pinangay, Don Antonio, Zaldy Quebral, Victor Formales, and Neil Ayson as members.
Ayson was later named top performer in the division during the league’s awards ceremony early this month at the Pacific Islands Club. Two other players took individual awards with Gomez getting the MVP plum for the Budweiser Cup and Cultura in the regular season.
In the Thursday League, Jokers Homeboyz’s Lucido notched the Budweiser Cup MVP plum, while Wild Bill’s Crazy 8’s Nong Detdon bagged the regular season MVP honors. Ayson also earned the top performer award in the Thursday League, while playing for Wild Bill’s Crazy 8.
In the team award, Wild Bill’s Crazy 8 brought home the Budweiser Cup, while Jokers Homeboyz won the regular season, downing Wild Bill’s and Poseidon Warriors.
Joining Ayson and Detdon on Wild Bill’s Crazy 8 are Juancho Mendoza, Pinangay, Dela Cruz, Jack Thoensaket, and Victor Formales. Jokerz Homeboyz has George Lizardo, Cuktura, Lucido, Villanueva, Joseph Achas, Woodson, Cesar Sangalang, and Ermin Nupable.
Meanwhile, Jonny’s Team SCS and Bammy’s Equalizers took the sportsmanship awards in the Thursday and Tuesday divisions, respectively.
