Free health screening on March 4

The Philippine Consulate General will hold its first quarter health screening for Filipino workers next week.
The event will be held from 7am to noon on March 4 at the ground floor of Marianas Business Plaza in Susupe, with registration to begin at 6:30am.
The free health screening program is a collaboration with the Philippine Overseas Labor Office, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Filipino Volunteer Medical Team, CNMI Pharmacist Association, Hardt Eye Clinic, and other Filipino volunteers.
With the expected closure of the Consulate in July or August this year, this health screening will be among the last few that the office will have.
Consul General Medardo Macaraig noted, however, that they have yet to receive an official word from the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila regarding the actual date of their closure. Still, he assured the Filipino community that they will continue to provide the free health screening and other programs of the Consulate as long as their office remains open.
Macaraig urged Filipino workers to avail of the medical services that will be available during the health screening: blood pressure, blood sugar, and eye checkups.
Those who will avail of the blood sugar screening should refrain from having any solid or liquid food intake from 12 midnight prior to the screening until after blood samples have been obtained at the event.
