Car driven by alleged intoxicated man causes vehicular accident

A man was injured when a car being driven by an alleged intoxicated man swerved into the opposite lane on Middle Road and hit his vehicle Saturday night.

The accident happened at about 7:25pm in front of a building where the office of Safety 1st Systems CNMI Inc. and Sherwin Williams Paint Store are located.

The victim was injured in the mouth and was taken to the Commonwealth Health Center. His passengers—a daughter and an infant—were not injured, Saipan Tribune learned.

The alleged intoxicated driver was also taken to CHC after he complained of chest pains.

Both vehicles had extensive damage on the front bumper portion.

It was not clear whether the alleged intoxicated driver was arrested after the incident. Police placed the incident under further investigation.
