UOG’s SBPA offers 12 scholarships

There will be six scholarships for undergraduate students and six graduate scholarships for this announcement cycle.

The scholarship is in tribute to the late Dr. Sanchez, who was a legislator, historian, public administrator and an educator who promoted the value of an educated government workforce. He served as president of the University of Guam from 1970 to 1974. Sanchez graduated from St. Thomas University in Minnesota, obtained his master’s degree in education from Columbia University, and received his doctorate from Stanford University.

The deadline to apply is 5pm, July 14, 2023.

  • An applicant must submit:
  • A completed application form
  • A typewritten essay
  • A letter of recommendation signed by a government, education, or community leader, preferably from someone who has direct knowledge of an applicant’s work and academic capabilities as an employee within GovGuam.
  • A letter of recommendation from the applicant’s supervisor or director of a department or agency.
  • Transcripts
  • Verification of Employment
