DEDEDO, Guam—Guam Regional Medical City proudly welcomes rheumatologist Dr. Jirapat Teerakanok to Guam.

Teerakanok joins GRMC in a permanent, full-time position, specializing in diagnosis and treatment of various autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, gout, lupus, osteoporosis, and more. He is currently Guam’s only on-island provider for rheumatology.

Teerakanok is double board-certified in rheumatology and internal medicine in the U.S. and Thailand. He is also a certified clinical densitometrist. Prior to his arrival on Guam, Teerakanok last served at the Samitivej Sriracha Hospital in Thailand.

Chief medical officer Dr. Alexander “Beau” Wielaard said, “We are excited to welcome Dr. Teerakanok on our team at GRMC to serve the people of Guam. With a full-time rheumatologist on-board, this allows GRMC to provide our island with greater access to specialty care that would normally be sought off-island.”

To schedule an appointment with Teerakanok, contact GRMC’s Referral Management Office at (671) 633-GRMC (4762) or emailrefer@grmc.gu. (PR)
