Summer Pre-law Program participants meet attorney-mentors
The Judiciary’s Summer Pre-law Program participants met with their attorney-mentors on June 21, 2014, before officially starting classes today. Thirteen participants will undertake an intense, three-week study of law: Anthony H. Aguon, Carmen V. Borja, Tina R. Cruz, Sahjahan T. Hossain, Savana V. Manglona, Jaclyn T. Mendiola, Maisie Lynn SN. Mesngon, Zalbert C. Palma, Susan S. Pascual, Gretchen A. Smith, Christopher A. Tenorio, Angelina T. Tretnoff, and Dan Ryan B. Tumaquip.
In addition to teaching courses in Contracts and Property, Emeritus Professor Robert J. Desiderio of the University of New Mexico School of Law and Professor Rose Cuison-Villazor of the University of California at Davis School of Law will present a series of free lectures, open to the public, as part of The Law in the Community Lecture Series.

The Law in the Community Lecture Series will begin on June 26 at 6pm at the American Memorial Park, with Villazor’s lecture on “Immigration Reform and NMI Impact.” On July 1, Desiderio will present “Revisiting the Covenant: Military Interest in the NMI” at 6pm at the American Memorial Park. On July 8, Villazor will discuss “Article 12 Referendum: Blood Quantum and Other Constitutional Issues” at 6pm at the American Memorial Park. To conclude the series, on July 10, Desiderio will present on “Legal Education and the Minority Student” at the Guma Hustisia’s Law Library at 12pm. Attorneys may receive one continuing legal education credit for each lecture attended.
