The 2nd Annual Saipan Centennial Lions Basketball League playoffs will resume today, May 29, at the Civic Center Basketball Court after Typhoon Mawar postponed it for more than a week.
Today’s first game will have open division top seed Martech-Ol’Aces going up against eighth seed K2 Ballerz in the 6pm first game. The 7:30pm second will then pit fourth seed Ali’i against fifth seed The Game.
Tuesday’s matchup will be the continuation of the No. 3 Ol’Aces-No. 6 Pepoy’s Cafe & Restaurant masters division tiff that started last May 20 but was put off due to heavy rain. After the 6pm continuation game in the masters division, No. 2 Blue Haus and No. 7 Double A Corp. will duke it out in the second game beginning at 7pm.
The masters postseason already got going last May 19 with No. 1 seed A’s Car Air Conditioning blasting No. 8 RNV Construction in the first game, 76-62, and No. 4 Blue Eagle/Royal Pacific exacting a 95-62 dismantling of JSN Enterprises in the second game.
The open division playoffs continues on Wednesday, May 31, with second seed New Changming Market taking on seventh seed JTM Saipan beginning at 6pm and third seed Puerto Rico Bento challenging sixth seed Susan’s Catering starting at 7:30pm.
SCLC caging commissioner Sonny Ebuen thanked league teams and fans for their patience. He said hopefully Mother Nature will not cause anymore delays in the league’s resumption.
