MHS Dolphin Battalion holds 5th Cadet Military Ball
The Dolphin Battalion of Marianas High School held its 5th Annual Cadet Military Ball last May 13, 2023, at the Saipan World Resort’s Taga Hall.
Held to introduce cadets to formal gatherings and activities, the occasion also saw MHS seniors and cadets being presented with medals and honors, and acknowledging the outgoing battalion leadership.
The ball also witnessed the change of command ceremony, with outgoing battalion commander cadet Lt. Col. Shaina Heart Dimalanta turning over the battalion to the incoming battalion commander, cadet Lt. Col. Vince Felipe Silva.
The ball got started with guests and cadets being welcomed by the Dolphin Battalion Saber Guard, after which they were ushered to their seats for the evening. Posting of the colors and opening remarks followed shortly after.
After the remarks, the current S1 and future battalion commander presented the continuous improvement plan for the next school year. Following the CIP was dinner. While getting dinner, the outgoing senior delivered their speeches. Raffles for various prizes also took place during dinner.
During the change of command ceremony, the battalion acknowledged the outgoing leadership and welcomed the new upcoming staff.
Awards were handed out to multiple cadets in the program who have shown outstanding leadership skills.
The battalion credits the success of the event to the Military Ball Committee and Staff. “The Military Ball Committee labored tirelessly to convert the Taga Hall into a ballroom. …The…turnout were outstanding. The school’s
administration and battalion staff went above and beyond to ensure that the event went off without a hitch,” said a news release about the event. (PR)
