Martech-Ol’Aces-A’s Car Air Conditioning are No. 1 seeds

Martech-Ol’Aces and A’s Car Air Conditioning are the top seeds in the playoffs of the open and masters divisions, respectively, of the 2nd Annual Saipan Centennial Lions Basketball League.
Ol’Aces finished the regular season with a 9-1 win-loss record, followed by New Changming Market (8-2), Puerto Rico Bento (7-3), Ali’i (7-3), The Game (5-5), Susan’s Catering (5-5), JTM Saipan (5-5), K2 Ballerz (4-6), Lakay (3-7), Checkpoint International (1-9), and Socho Team (1-9).
A’s Car Air Conditioning was 6-1 in the masters division with Blue Haus second with the same mark but lost to the latter in the eliminations. Ol’Aces (5-2), Blue Eagle/Royal Pacific (4-3), JSN Enterprises (3-4), Pepoy’s Cafe & Restaurant (3-4), Double A Constriction (1-6), and RNV Construction (0-7) make up the rest of the teams.
The playoffs start tonight at the Civic Center Basketball Court with the higher seed teams taking on the lower seed teams in crossover matchups.
In last Tuesday’s makeup games, Martech-Ol’Aces finished the season with a 84-63 win over Socho, while the other matchup saw Puerto Rico Bento secure the second spot with an 82-67 win over K2 Ballerz.
Puerto Rico Bento 82 – Mintac 33, Foronda 24, Antonio 10, Reyes 6, Estimado 3.
K Ballerz 67 – Santos 21, Palmes 13, Satur 10, Dikito 6, Pua 6, Kaipat 4, Espiritu 3, Faisao 2, Taitingfong 2.
Scoring by quarters: 18-14, 40-32, 62-52, 82-67.
