Reyes leads pitching; Teigita tops batting in SBL

The SPC Survivors’ Jason Reyes is the pitching leader, while the Braves’ Isaiah Teigita is the batting leader as of May 12 in the Tan Holdings-Saipan Baseball League 2023 season.

Reyes has played four games, pitched 14.2 innings, has zero earned runs, nine hits against him, has a 1-0 win loss record, and zero earned run average. 

Second is the Cardinals’ Nathan Guerrero with two games pitched, nine innings under his belt, zero ER, three hits, 2-0 record, and also zero ERA. 

Third is the CK Bears’ Virgil Secharmidal with four games, 12 innings pitched, zero ER, four hits, a 2-0 record, and also zero ERA.

The most strikeouts belong to the hitting leader Teigita with 21; next is M.J. Sakisat and Secharmidal with 19; R.J. Riungel has 18; Tony Benavente has 17; Angelo Igitol and Reyes both have 15; and Henry Fleming and Kevin Kapileo both have 13.

On the offensive side, Teigita is also a beast with 11 hits out of 17 at-bats for a .647 batting average.

The Cardinals’ Nokki Saralu is second with 12 hits for 23 at-bats and has a .522 average. Teammate Brian Camacho is third as he went 10-for-20 and has a .500 average tied with Henry Aguon who also has a .500 average with 6 out of 12 at-bats.

Saralu has the most runs scored with 15; Shane Yamada has 10; Eli Aughenbaugh, Jerald Cabrera, and Tiegita are tied with nine; Jonathan Wilson and Nathan Camacho are tied with eight; and A.J. Evangelista and Giovanni Mira both have seven.

Jr. Suel and Poland Masaharu are tied with three for the most doubles; Henry Lizama, Joe Lizama, Teigita, Andrew Camacho, Vicente Camacho, Larson Sibetang, Saralu, Brian Camacho, Nathan Camacho, Jerald Cabrera, Yamada, Byron Kaipat, Jerome Delos Santos, and Franko Nakamura are all tied with two each.

Josenio Alverez leads the league with three triples; Ben Leon Guerrero, Brian Camacho, and Saralu have two each; while Kimo Angailan, Jordan Suel, Henry Aguon, Jobe Reyes, Harry Nakamura, J-Boy Mendiola, and Eli Aughenbaugh are tied with one.

Henry Lizama and Saralu have hit the season’s only home runs with one each.

The most runs batted in are Nathan Camacho and Masaharu with nine each; Brian Camacho and Mira have eight each; Jerald Cabrera, Saralu, and Yamada are tied with seven; while Harry Nakamura and Alvarez have six each.

The Cardinals lead the team standings with six wins; Falcons are 4-1; Bears are 3-1; Natives are 4-2; Jr. Nationals have an even 2-2 record; Braves are 2-3; Blue Jays have a 2-4 record; the Bandits, Brewers, and Survivors are 1-3; and the D-9er’s have yet to win with four losses.
