Kelvin “The Big Hit” Fitial couldn’t hide his disappointment with the cancellation of MCFC 2 where he was supposed to take on  Travis “Diesel” Wiuff  this Saturday, May 13, at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, Minnesota.

“The fight has been called off… I’m frustrated but what can I do? It’s out of my control… A lot of stuff didn’t pull through,” he told Saipan Tribune.

The 39-year-old, 250-pounder even vowed to knock out Wiuff in the main event of MCFC 2.

“I’m so bummed because I trained hard for this fight. I was ready,” he added.

Fitial is coming into the scrapped pay-per-view fight with a record of 15 wins, 13 losses, and two draws. The 6’3” brawler, fighting out of Four Seasons Martial Arts & Fitness, won his last fight when he beat Ben Schneider via TKO in the first round of Brawl International 2.

“[I’m] still training here (Rochester), but I will be home on Sunday. I’ll just wait patiently for the next opportunity,” said Fitial on his plans after MCFC 2 was canceled.

Coming into his fight with Fitial, the 45-year-old, 265-lb Wiuff carried a 78-22 win-loss record with one ending in a no-contest. The 6’2”  fighter out of Elite Performance MMA won his last three fights.

Prior to the event’s cancellation Med City Fighting Championships co-owner Matthew Vogt spoke with Saipan Tribune and said that MCFC 2 could serve as a launching pad for more Pacific Islands mixed martial arts fighters to compete under his promotion.

“I haven’t been to the islands yet, but I will eventually but we want to have global appeal… We want to also be a gateway for some other international fighters to fight in the United States. To get some international credibility and give opportunities for fighters to be seen.

It ultimately depends on how big we get. That’s why it’s important that you know each of our fights in pay per view because it gives good opportunities for people like Kelvin to get a great payday and also to enhance global appeal,” he said.
