KHS’ Ayuyu Battalion holds end-of-the-year ceremony

Kagman High School’s Ayuyu Battalion conducted its annual military ball last May 1, 2023, at the school’s cafeteria, preceded by the change of command ceremony where the new battalion commander, Kenae Borja, was promoted to C/LTC and became the new Ayuyu Battalion commander.

This was soon followed by the awards ceremony, during which cadets received the following awards: the Military Officers Association Award was given to one cadet, the Military Order of the World Wars was given to one cadet; the Superior Cadets award was given to four cadets; the Military Order of the Purple Hearts was given to one cadet; Daughters of the American Revolution was given to two cadets; Sons of the American Revolution was given to three cadets; Cadet of the Semester was given to two cadets; Cadet of the Year was given to one cadet; Distinguished Cadet was given to one cadet; Distinguished Scholastic Excellence was given to one cadet; Star Performer was given to three cadets; and Citizenship Awards were given to 59 cadets.

Entertainment followed soon after the presentation of the awards and a video presentation of the past school year’s events were shown. Cadets also performed songs and dances. The KHS RCC club members and the Neisian Harmony also performed. A raffle for all attendees was also held with great prizes from Friendly Market as well as Saipan World Resort waterpark tickets. The night ended with a retiring of the colors around 9pm.

Among those in attendance were Board of Education member Herman Atalig, Marianas High School senior Army instructor Lt. Col. Gregory Sablan, school principal Benjamin Jones, vice principal Francisca Bondoc, cadets, and their parents. (PR)
