Old, has-been athletes sought to represent NMI
Interested master athletes (30-99 years old) throughout the CNMI are encouraged to register and begin training for the upcoming Oceania Masters Athletics (track and field) event being hosted by the CNMI with help from Northern Marianas Athletics.
The event is hosted by NMA, the governing body of athletics, cross country, and road races in the CNMI, with help from the Northern Marianas Sports Association.
Age divisions are separated into five-year spans, allowing master athletes the opportunity to compete against their peers throughout Oceania and Southeast Asia.
Masters events are 60m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1,500m, 5,000m, short hurdles, long hurdles, steeplechase, long jump, triple jump, high jump, shot put, discus throw, hammer throw, javelin throw, weight throw, 3,000m track walk, 5,000m track walk, throws pentathlon, pentathlon, heptathlon/octathlon, 10K road walk, cross country, and half marathon

Currently, NMA is conducting national team practices at the track Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 5pm to 8pm. The facility is also open to all masters athletes on Mondays, from 5pm to 8pm.
Upon the completion of the McDonald’s All Schools Championship Series on May 6, NMA will continue conducting practices at the track on Saturdays, from 7am to 9am.
