The Saipan International School Geckos slayed the Grace Christian Academy Eagles in two sets, 21-17, 21-14, in the NMIVA-Public School System Boys High School Volleyball League 2022-2023 in the last game last Tuesday night at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.

The Eagles could not take off with the win as the rotating roster of Seth Balakrishna, Ryan Daproza, Jasper Hall, Noah Lee, Miles Linden, Kyle San Hyun Moon, Akira Ota, Jack Raho, Tristan Raho, Julian Taitano, Jiahao Yang, Sui Yi, and Jiahang Wu were out-killed and out-blocked by the Geckos.

The Geckos’ Omari Joab had the most kills in the game as he was set up almost perfectly each time with the Eagles unable to block and return his spikes cleanly.

Yi had some aces up his sleeve during his serves but the Geckos came back on their well placed returns that caused some mistakes from the Eagles’ six in the second set.

In the end, the Geckos pulled away with the seven-point deficit win as the last kill was made by Joab.

Casey Chambers, Dwight Crisostomo, Omari Joab, Dongyeon Kang, Kyle Kramer, Daniel Nam, Jesus Sablan, and Will Sosa.
