Agape Christian School and Francisco M. Sablan Middle School outclassed separate opponents in the resumption of the 2022-2023 IT&E Interscholastic Boys High School Basketball League last Wednesday at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.

The Torchbearers momentarily lost Raffy Cai to a knee injury and trailed early against Saipan Community School.

After a couple of minutes, the point guard was back in harness as he and Daniel Song proceeded to lead ACS to a rout of the Guardians and led 16-10 at the half. 

It would only get from bad to worse for SCS as Daniel Yang entered the scoring picture and the trio scored basket after basket while Daniel Ye was essentially the lone wolf for the Guardians.

In the end ACS pulled off a 31-18 win over SCS with Song, Cai and Yang leading the way with 13, 11, and 8 points, respectively. 

Ye was practically the offense for the Guardians, scoring all but 2 points of their total.

In the other game, the Napu Riders opened a 34-8 lead at the half and never looked back in their 47-point shellacking of Grace Christian Academy, 60-13.

Jairus Pangilinan paced scorers with 14 points, while Leon Duenas chipped in 10 markers. The Eagles were led by the 8 points of Austin Yumul,

In other games last Wednesday, Mount Carmel School varsity throttled Tanapag Middle School varsity, 40-11; Saipan International School routed Hopwood Middle School varsity, 35-13; DanDan Middle School varsity beat ChaCha Oceanview Middle School varsity, 35-25; and HMS JV waylaid SIS JV, 36-9.

FMS varsity 60 – Pangilinan 14, Duenas 10, Camacho 8, Defang 6, Piteg 4, Hiroichi 4, Lucero 2, Derek 2, Lieto 2.
GCA 13 – Yumul 8, Raymundo 3, Ordas 2.
Scoring by halves:
34-18, 60-13.

ACS 31 – Song 13, Cai 8, Yang 8.
SCS 18 – Ye 16, De Oro 2.
Scoring by halves: 16-10, 31-18.
