In its effort to advance postsecondary education in the CNMI, the Northern Marianas College Foundation has announced that its signature event, the Annual NMC Foundation Open Golf Tournament, will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the West Course of the Laolao Bay Golf and Resort. This will be the eleventh year the tournament has been held.

The NMC Foundation is composed of community volunteers committed to elevating higher education opportunities for CNMI students. All proceeds from the tournament will be used to support NMC’s educational programs and services.
“On behalf of the NMC Foundation, I would like to thank all past supporters for their investment in our community. I call upon the same supporters as well as other members of this great community to contribute to our one and only community college in helping students achieve their goal of obtaining a degree in higher education,” said NMC Foundation president Bill Santos. “All proceeds will go to the NMC Foundation which is charged with the mission of supporting our great community college.”
The entrance fee for the tournament is only $95 per player. Interested players are also invited to bring their family, friends, and playing partners for a fantastic day of fun and fundraising for a good cause. There will be six separate flight categories: Championship, A, B, C, Seniors, and Ladies.
With a shotgun start at 7am, the tournament is a medal play format. In addition to first, second and third place prizes for the different flights, the tournament will include hole-in-one prizes. The lucky golfer who makes a hole-in-one shot at designated sites will win significant prizes donated by the tournament’s sponsors.
The NMC Foundation is also asking companies or individuals who can contribute Education Tax Credit, monetary, or in-kind donations to sponsor the tournament. Those interested in sponsoring the event or who are interested in registering to play can contact the Northern Marianas College at 234-5498 Ext. 6780 or email richard.villagomez@marianas.edu. (NMC)
