Aguon, Camacho are top hitters in BASA

Derrick Aguon from Wazzup and Kiana “Baby K” Camacho from the Lady Blue Jays are the top hitters in the master’s and women’s divisions of the 2023 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association League as of April 2.

Out of Aguon’s 22 at-bats, he had 16 hits for a batting average of .727, while Camacho had 11 hits out of 15 at bats for a .733 average.

Second to Aguon is Hagu La’mun’s Kelvin Kapileo with 8 out of 11 hits for a .727 average; third is the Red Men’s Lefty Shiro with a .714 average after 10 hits from 14 at-bats.

The Hotshot’s Erica Tenorio is second in batting with five hits out of eight at-bats for a .625 average. The Lady Sufa’s Jaylina Borja and the Lady Legal’s Pauline Camacho also have a .625 average each.

The runs scored leader in the master’s division is Dennis Cruz with 12; Joe Lizama and Robert Bansil have 11 each; and Jaimi Reyes and James Fleming have 10 each.

The doubles leader is James Fleming with five; Dennis Cruz and Tim Wesley have four each; and Eric Cabrera, Glenn Camacho, Joe Lizama, John Taitano, and Marco Peter all have three each.

Ben Higgins, Dominic Hideo, and Tim Wesley lead the triples with two each, while 10 players are tied with one each.

Joey Dela Cruz has the most home runs with six; followed by four each from Audie Maratita, Manny Sablan, and Robert Bansil; with three each, Kelvin Kapileo and Pat Guerrero have two each.

Dela Cruz also has the most runs batted in (RBIs) with 17; second is Robert Bansil with 15; Pat Guerrero has 12; and Glen Camacho and Kelvin Kapileo have 10 each.

The pitching leaders are Eric David from Tokahao who has played two games, pitched seven innings with two earned runs, have 15 hits against him, has one win, and has an earned run average (ERA) of two.

Second is Hagu La’mun’s Joe Celis who has pitched two games, 12 innings, four earned runs, 11 hits, a 1-1 record, and 2.33 ERA; and third is Paul Salalila from Sufa who has pitched one game, seven innings, three earned runs, 14 hits, one win, and three ERA.

The most strikeouts goes to Henry Reyes with 15; Ken Kaipat has 14; Dominic Hideo and Bruce Laniyo have 13 each; Leo Iskawa has 11; Joe ‘Openg’ Celis has 10; and Derron Flores has nine.

Back to the women’s division, the most runs scored has been posted by Kiana “Baby K” Camacho, Rachel Salalila, and Rayna Deleon Guerrero with eight each. Bert Camacho, Erica Tenorio, Emy Oiterong, and Pauline Camacho have six each.

Camacho also has the most doubles with three; and Edilyn Benjamin, Jalina Borja, Kianu Aldan, and Sheena Maratita have two each.
Mardina Kaipat has the most triples with two; and Britany Luzama, Janica Lizama, Lem Ogumoro, Rosie Saralu, and Stacy Eno have one each.

Camacho and Salalila have the most home runs with two each; while eight players are tied with one apiece.
Lastly, Camacho has the most RBIs with 10; Janica Lizama has seven; Deleon Guerrero has six; and Benjamin and Salalila have five each.
