PLAQUE OF RECOGNITION Saipan Mayor Ramon “RB” Jose Blas Camacho presents a plaque of recognition to Mary Ellen Taman, widow of the late Candido “Candy” Babauta Taman, in the presence of Taman’s family and Gov. Arnold I. Palacios. Candy Taman was a local music legend and a member of the House of Representatives in the 15th Legislature. Camacho is forever grateful for the efforts of Candy Taman to preserve the Chamorro and Refaluwasch language through song. The mayor also recognizes the public service of Candy Taman during his tenure in the 15th Legislature of the House of Representatives. “His contributions to the community and his wonderful and melodious voice will live on in the spirit of our islands for years to come,” said a statement from the Saipan Mayor’s Office. MARIANAS TOURISM MONTH

ROTA OUTREACH

SAFETY TRAINING
Thirteen certified Child Care and Development Fund providers recently completed the training for building and physical premises safety, including identification of and protection from hazards that can cause bodily injuries such as electrical hazards, bodies of water, and vehicular traffic. The training was facilitated by Evergreen Learning Quality Care specialist Maricar I. Pena and meets the required 12 health and safety topics that all providers must complete. This training was made possible through funding from the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Child Care, CNMI CCDF program under the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FLOAT
The CNMI House of Representatives led by Speaker Edmund S. Villagomez, front, joins the Liberation Parade last July 4, 2023.
