The Saipan Mayor’s office recently expanded its routine roadside maintenance efforts to include the public lands surrounding the Chalan Kanoa Youth Center as part of assistance to the CNMI Youth Affairs Office.

In a notice to the public last Friday, it said that Saipan Mayor Ramon “RB” Camacho’s office has received inquiries about beautification activities in the village of Chalan Kanoa amd he made the decision to include the public lands surrounding the Chalan Kanoa Youth Center in the SMO’s routine roadside maintenance efforts and maintain accessibility to the center, as part of efforts to assist special assistant Delbert T. Pua and the CNMI Youth Affairs Office.

“To allow overgrowing vegetation in these areas will adversely affect the community’s access to the facility and consequently impact the Youth Affairs programs aimed to provide various learning opportunities for our youth,” the news release said.

It stated that Camacho stands firm in his commitment to people and will continue to assist partnering agencies that provide programs to benefit the community.

Pua echoed Camacho’s stance, saying, “Forging partnerships with other organizations who have the resources to assist us in anyway is paramount, especially in these tough economic times, and we sincerely appreciate the efforts of the honorable mayor and his hardworking team.”

For any questions, concerns, or inquiries, contact the Saipan Mayor’s office at (670) 234-6208. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm. (Saipan Tribune/PR)
