SIS routes GCA in MS boys v-ball

The Saipan International School Geckos boys varsity volleyball team routed the Grace Christian Academy Eagles in the NMIVA-PSS Interscholastic Middle School Volleyball League 2022-2023.
The Geckos defeated the Eagles in two hard-fought sets last Thursday at the Marianas High School Gymnasium. With that win, the Geckos have become a force to be reckoned with as they remain the only undefeated team with seven wins.
The Eagles tried to penetrate the sticky defense of the Geckos in the first set but ultimately failed as the Geckos won, 21-14.

The second set was much harder for the Geckos to navigate through as the Eagles tried to soar into a third tie-breaking set, but their skill and teamwork—coupled with their strong serves and precise sets earned them their unbroken streak and won the game, 21-19.
The Geckos are set to face off against the Francisco M. Sablan Middle School tonight and with their momentum on their side, the team is poised to continue their winning streak.
In other results that night, FMS defeated ChaCha Ocean View Middle School, 21-13, 22-20; Hopwood Middle School forfeited against Saipan Community School; the Tatagas blew Mount Carmel School out of the water in three sets, 19-21, 21-6, 15-8; COVMS JV blew past SIS JV, 21-8, 21-17; and SCS JV edged HMS JV, 21-14, 11-21, 15-12.
In Pool A standings behind DanDan Middle School’s 6-1 card is TMS with 6 wins and 2 loss; SCS is at 4-3; HMS is 2-5; and Mount Carmel School has yet to win with 7 losses.
In Pool B standings, SIS leads with their 7 wins; Agape Christian School is at 5-3; GCA is 4-3; FMS is 2-5; and COVMS has yet to win with 7 losses.
In the junior varsity standings, HMS is undefeated with 4 wins; DMS has a 3-1 card; SCS is 1-2; COVMS has 1 win and 2 losses; and SIS has 4 losses.
Tonight is the last game of the regular season with the playoffs to begin on Thursday, March 9, at 4:45pm, then will resume the next day, and the championship rounds are set for Saturday, March 11, at 8am.
