Run Saipan member Ronald Villafria has made his home club proud once more after completing the half marathon of the TCS Clark Animo International Marathon last weekend in the Philippines.

The 52-year-old longtime Saipan resident, who is currently taking up vocational courses in his native country, finished the 21-kilometer course around Clark City, Pampanga in an unofficial time of 1 hour and 48 minutes.

The Clark Animo International Marathon marked the first time the longtime Saipan resident had done the half marathon in seven years after being preoccupied organizing races with the Triathlon Association of the CNMI, where he was an officer.

He dedicated his latest feat, first and foremost, to his loving and understanding wife, Lorna, as well as his running clubs, Run Saipan in the CNMI and the Nueva Ecija Runners in the Philippines.

Next up for Villafria is the SUB1hour 10K race in Manila on May 14. He will then take on the challenge of the 70K Ultra Marathon—San Jose to Gapan in Nueva Ecija—the week after on May 20.

Villafria is currently taking up EIM Electrical Installation Maintenance courses under the Technical Education And Skills Development Authority in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.

Last month, he completed the Luneta To Tagaytay 60KM Midnight Ultramarathon. Before that exhausting race, he completed his first ultramarathon, albeit virtually, when he entered the 70K Ayta Ultramarathon.

He also took part in the Ayta 555K Bike, which like the 70K Ayta Ultramarathon, he also virtually completed on Saipan in a time of 23:06.

As far as donations of shoes are concerned, Villafria clarified that the previous article citing that he needs new shoes in the introduction was meant as a joke However, he did say that new shoes are welcome and thanked Tan Holdings for giving him a pair of Skechers in his previous races.
