By the way Vicente “Beng” Palacios has been riding; he won’t be in the Novice Class for long.
The 14-year-old again dominated the eight-lap Novice Class in last Sunday’s 2023 Monster Energy Point Series Race at the Cowtown Race Track.
Palacios topped both heats en route to scoring 50 points. Christian Camacho was second with 44 points, while Ponce Rasa rounded out third with 40 points.
“It feels good to win the first race of the season and to have a great team to support me is great. What was working for me last Sunday was to get a good start and just ride my race and just ride like its practice,” said Palacios.
The Dandan Middle School student was able to fend off Camacho and Rasa by using the aforementioned good start in the Marianas Racing Association January race.
“I just had to get a good start and then I started pulling away little by little. I am dedicating this win to my team and to my family and I just want to say thank you to all the people who have helped me throughout my racing career,” said Palacios, who swapped out his old crf150 for his new yz250f.
“ It is a bigger bike and it has more power,” he said.
In the Intermediate Class, Corry Pangelinan also made a perfect run in the 10-lap race for 50 points. Henry Camacho Jr. was second with 42 points, while Melvin Cepeda was third with 40 points.
Nakoa Torres and Bentley Koshiro rode alone in the Peewee ATV and the Peewee I classes, respectively, and won the four-lap races without much effort.
