In celebration of February as National Heart Health Month, Marianas Health and its subsidiary agencies will once again be hosting a free HAFA Miles 5K Run/Walk this Saturday, Feb. 4, at 6am.
Registration starts at 5am and the route will run from the Gov. Eloy S. Inos Peace Park, through the Smiling Cove Marina, and to the turn around point at the Micro Beach Pavilion.
The first 100 finishers will receive a Marianas Health gift bag.
As an opportunity to bring awareness and lead people into healthier lifestyles, Marianas Health invites the public to join in this early morning run/walk event.
Marianas Health would like to raise awareness on the importance of a healthy heart and to encourage healthy habits that help reduce the risk of heart disease. Heart disease is the leading cause of death affecting the CNMI post-World War II due to significant lifestyle changes and dependence on imported processed foods.

Last Nov. 26 and Nov. 29, over 300 participants on Saipan and Rota joined Marianas Health’s HAFA Miles 5K Run/Walk in celebration of National Homecare and Hospice Month, National Diabetes Prevention and Awareness Month, and National Caregivers Month.
The 2022 HAFA Miles 5K Run/Walk was an opportunity to bring awareness to those campaigns, and for schools to show their school spirit, as well as an opportunity for Marianas Health to raise funds for each school.
