WASHINGTON, D.C.—Delegate Uifa’atali Amata (R-Amer. Samoa) is congratulating Delegate James Moylan of Guam (R-GU) and welcoming the addition of a Member from a Pacific territory to the House Armed Services Committee. Amata noted that important issues affecting the three Pacific U.S. territories often have similarities among all three, and the three Members of Congress have a broad range of complementary applicable Committee assignments, as well as working together on the Natural Resources Committee where they each serve.

“As a Member with a high rate of military service in my own district, I welcome the announcement of Congressman James Moylan’s assignment to the House Committee on Armed Services,” said Amata. “With the beginning of heightened focus on the Pacific, we need Pacific voices and perspectives on this key committee, which oversees our great military. I look forward to working with Congressman Moylan from my seats on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, and Natural Resources to continue efforts to ensure the people of the Pacific are consulted and considered at the center of our Indo-Pacific strategy.” (PR)
