The Koblerville Elementary School Umangs, Tinian Elementary School Colts, and the Sinapalo Elementary School Lu’Aos lead the Public School System Co-ed Elementary School Volleyball Tournament in their first day of round-robin games last Friday at the Oleai Sports Complex.

The Umangs team 2 lead Pool C with a 3-0 win-loss record, while the Colts are 3-1 and the Lu’Aos are right behind with a 2-1 card.
The Umangs first beat Saipan Community School, 21-10, went on to defeat San Vicente Elementary School 1, 21-4, then won against Saipan International School via forfeit.

The neighboring island of Tinian made their short flight worth it, as in the Colts’ campaign, they breezed through SCS, 21-17, galloped their way to victory against SVES, 21-16, and defeated Grace Christian Academy 2, 21-1. Their one loss came from SES, as the Lu’Aos beat them, 21-15.

The Lu’Aos from the southernmost island of Rota also had a productive crusade as their other win came against SCS, 21-10.

In the standings behind the three schools are Oleai Elementary School 1 and GCA 2 with a 2-2 card and SCS, and SIS 1 with a 1-3 record. SVS 1 has yet to win a game with 4 losses.

The next regular season round robin game is scheduled for Feb. 3, 10, and 17.

The championship double-elimination tournament is set for Feb. 24 and 25.
