I’ll be a poem for Christmas
You can count my syllables for free
All I want for Christmas is free verse poetry

A poem I already am, don’t need poetry slam
Over the verses and through the words
To some Sonnet sensibility we go
My verse knows the way to show the play
That seasonal song wordsmithing brings
Adjectives we have heard on high
Some Adverbial phrases all in a row
Oh poem just right, rhymes are brightly shining
It is a night for merriment and mirth
Writing a poetic piece with worth

Here comes Independent Clause
I’m dreaming of a Write Christmas
With all the happy rhymes I know
With not a good rhyme missing
And people actually read and listen
