2021 Miss Marianas Savannah Lyn Delos Santos has made history as, for the first time ever in an international pageant, the CNMI placed in the Top 15 of the 60th Miss International Beauty Pageant 2022 held at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo, Japan, last Dec. 13, 2022.

The 25-year-old Sexual Assault Response team manager at the Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence told Saipan Tribune in a WhatsApp interview that she is “very grateful.”

“Grateful to the people of the Marianas for showing their love and support. I couldn’t have gotten this far without their belief in me. I’m excited to be making history as well! This is a significant win for the Northern Marianas because this was the very first placement of the Northern Marianas at Miss International and in any Big 4 Pageants,” said Delos Santos.

In the Top 15, Delos Santos joined contestants from France, Finland, New Zealand, Germany, the Philippines, Cabo Verde, Peru, Jamaica, Colombia, Costa Rica, Canada, Dominican Republic, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

A total of 66 contestants joined the pageant, with Germany’s Jasmin Selberg being crowned as Miss International 2022.

First runner-up was Miss Cabo Verde, Stephany Amado. Second runner-up was Miss Peru, Tatiana Calmell. Third runner-up went to Miss Colombia, Natalia Lopez Cordona, and fourth runner-up went to Miss Dominican Republic, Celinee Santos Frias.

Delos Santos was crowned the 2021 Miss Marianas on March 13, 2021, besting seven other contestants at the Stellar Marianas-organized pageant.
