Camille’s Cookies & Crumbles opens at Paseo
There’s a new dessert shop on Saipan.
Camille’s Cookies & Crumbles officially opened its doors last Oct. 28 and owner DeShawn Reign said the COVID-19 coupled with some itchy feet led him to open a business half across the world in the CNMI.
“My company was in Vero Beach, Florida, and they closed down all non-essential businesses. Then when I saw people flying away, I was like, ‘man, I haven’t traveled the world!’ I came to Saipan because I wanted to travel,” he said.
While vacationing on Saipan, Reign then met some people who told him that people on island really love their sweets.
“So, I decided to open up here…I’ve tried all the different kinds of cookies on island and no one has anything that I do, or remotely like my product. ‘So I said, Why not open up now?’”
Reign said Camille’s Cookies & Crumbles’ recipes are actually from his late grandmother who eventually passed it to his mother, Camille, who he named the store after. Reign himself perfected the cookie recipes when he made it into a business in 2020.
“The original flavors were butter, chocolate chip, and peanut butter. You know back then they never weighed or measured anything, they just eyeballed. One batch was awesome then another batch might be a little stronger. So I perfected the three recipes and then I’ve created the flavors that we have now,” he said.

Now up to 22 flavors, Camille’s Cookies & Crumbles’ products are made from simple ingredients—from six to seven ingredients, Reign estimates—and not a lot of preservatives.
“That’s it and everything is homemade gourmet. I actually do all the baking for the store here.”
From the original three, Reign has added uniquely local creations like Marianas Honey Cha Coco, Saipan Chocolate Thunder, Tinian Power Crunch, and Skor on Rota aside from the usual favorites like There Sum Smore’s In This House, Chocolate Mint Chip, Party Up! Cake…Cake…Cake…, and Velvet Thrust.
Aside from its brick and mortar front at the Paseo De Marianas, Camille’s Cookies & Crumbles also distributes to retail stores like Joeten Superstore, Triple J Payless SuperFresh & Truckload Store, and Mobil gas stations.
Aside from his wish to travel and bake his favorite cookies, Reign also has a deep connection to the Marianas, as his grandfather fought in the Battle of Saipan aboard the USS Enterprise at the close of World War II.
Camille’s Cookies & Crumbles has an ongoing promotion where a Party Package purchase of their gourmet cookies can give customers as much as $20 savings (140 pieces).
The dessert shop is currently open Monday-Friday from 12:30pm to 9:30pm and weekends from 5pm to 10pm.
