Pistang Pinoy kicks off next week

The United Filipino Organizations will be kicking off its Pistang Pinoy celebration next Sunday, June 15, at the Garapan Fishing Base across Kristo Rai Church. It will be held from 7am to 8pm.

Tau Gamma Phi will spearhead a Medical Mission from 7am to 11am.

Akap Pinoy will conduct the Panlasang Food Contest at 2pm.

There will be contests, games, non-stop entertainment, and raffle drawings from 2pm to 6pm.

Contests include Best Nipa Hut (using popsicle sticks), father-and-child singing contest, a drawing contest for children based on the theme.

Games include sack race, tug of war, jumping house for kids, and many more.

The event will be capped by the Pinoy Super Mom beauty pageant at 6pm, featuring 18 candidates.

In related news, there will be a CNMI-Philippine Friendship Month proclamation signing, followed by a flag-raising at Kanoa Resort in Susupe on June 8 to mark the 116th Philippine Independence Day. The program will be from 7am to 10am.

Philippine Consul General Bayani Mangibin from Guam, together with NMI officials and dignitaries will grace the event.

It is open to the public and those who wish to attend the flag-raising with breakfast will need to pay $10 per head and come in “Filipiniana” attire or formal wear.

After the program there will be a dialogue and consultation with Mangibin.
