The Democratic Party gubernatorial tandem of Rep. Christina E. Sablan (D-Saipan) and Rep. Leila Fleming Staffer (D-Saipan) has endorsed Lt. Gov. Arnold I. Palacios and his running mate, Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang, for the runoff election two weeks from now.

The two, who have conceded their defeat in the 2022 general election, announced their endorsement of Palacios-Apatang during a press conference at the Democratic Party headquarters on Middle Road.

Sablan (R-Saipan), in first place with 5,726 votes, or 38.84% of the total votes cast, while Palacios and Apatang were in second place with 4,890 votes, or 33.16% of the total votes cast. Sablan and Staffler came in third after obtaining a total of 4,132 votes, or 28.02% of the total votes cast.
