The Lady Eagles shot down the Hot Shots, 16-5, in their make-up game and lone women’s division game in the 2022 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association League last Sunday at the DanDan Softball Field.
In a one-sided, run-filled game, the Lady Eagles’ Emi Oiterong, Verline Secharmidal, and Ikelau Ngirarois were the stars of the team as they all hit a home run each and collected a total of eight RBIs.
The Hot Shots were cold in their offense as they went four innings without a single run—the opposite of the Lady Eagles as they soared through the defense and kept the runs coming until the very last inning.
The Hot Shots’ first three batters—Erica Tenorio, Brittany Luzama, and Becky Repeki—brought in the team’s four runs over three innings.
Meanwhile, the Eagles scored four runs in the first inning and kept the momentum going throughout the game with two in the second, three each in the fourth and fifth inning, then scoring four more runs in the final inning.
The end of the women’s second round is this Sunday, Nov. 13, after the last make-up game between the Hot Shots and the 670 Babes.
The end of the men’s second round is on Nov. 27 with the playoffs scheduled to start on Dec. 4.
The men’s division game results will be posted in the next issue of Saipan Tribune.
