Blackwood now calls Gualo Rai new home

Blackwood is going downtown after the furniture store relocated from Koblerville to Gualo Rai last September.
“We decided to move to an area with more traffic coming through, better visibility, and a bigger space,” said manager Dayoung Chung.
So far, the new digs have been a boon for the three-year-old furniture store as they’ve been getting a steady flow of customers since reopening.
“Business is going great so far. We have many items and customers coming in,” she said.
Chung said unlike the Koblerville store, the Gual Rai location is more accessible because of its more central location and because it’s in one of the main thoroughfares of Saipan, they get a lot of first-time customers
“The Gualo Rai location is better because it is easier for people to find. We have more customers come in and more space to display items. First-time customers visit us out of curiosity because they pass by and notice our sign. Regular customers enjoy the new location because it is bigger and easier to spot,” she said.
The relocated furniture store has new shoe cabinets, gaming tables, entertainment centers, picture frames, umbrellas, desks, drawers, and patio items such as hammock stands. (Mark Rabago)
The move to Gualo Rai and the larger space also means Blackwood gets to offer more items to the public.
“Our new showroom is bigger 30%. And thankfully we also have a bigger warehouse to stock all the items with various options. We have new shoe cabinets, gaming tables, entertainment centers, and picture frames, etc…We have patio items such as hammock stands, umbrellas, and more options of our items which are desks, drawers, cabinets, and shoe cabinets, etc.,” said Chung.
Blackwood currently has no ongoing promotions, but the community should expect discounts as the countdown to the Christmas season draws closer.
“We don’t have any promotions at the moment. But if we have promotions, we will post them, so please stay tuned to our social media (Facebook, Instagram),” added Chung.
Blackwood is located at the old H-Mart Building along Middle Road in Gualo Rai. It’s open 11am-6pm from Monday to Saturday and closed on Sunday.
