Maratita, Hideo lead home run race

Team Sufa’s Audie Maratita from and Asahi’s Dominic Hideo share the top spot in the home run race for the 2022 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association League as of Oct. 23.
Both hard hitters have rocketed the ball out of the park 12 times, with Mike Techur and Eric Palacios right behind them with 11 each. Pete Sablan and Jeff Cruz have 10 each, Jude Dickenson has nine, and Paul Salalila has eight.
Maratita is also the leading batter in the division with Hideo in third place. Maratita went to bat 39 times and connected with the ball 31 times for a batting average of almost .800 at .795. Hideo has 43 at bats, 31 hits, and a .721 average. In second is Cartfield Sablan with 40 at bats and 29 hits for an average of .725.
Additionally, Maratita is tied in fourth place with six doubles along with Greg Magofna, Ben Hocog, Cartfield Sablan, and John Acosta. Above them are Tim Wesley with 10, John Taitano with nine, and Jun Lizama and J.J. Laniyo with seven each.
Hideo is a star utility player as along with the bat, he also controls the mound with 32 strikeouts. He is ranked the No. 4 leading pitcher with 14 games pitched and 85.1 innings pitched– the most of any pitcher, 85 earned runs, 200 hits against him, an even 7-7 standing, and an earned run average of 6.99.
The Top 3 leading pitchers above Hideo are Joe Celis of Hagu La’mun, Eric Palacios of Man Amigos, and John Diaz of Ngaraard Redmen.
For the most runs scored, Hideo is tied at third with 26 together with J.J. Laniyo and Paul Salalila. Maratita is right behind him with 24. Ranked first is John Terlaje with 29, followed by Jeff Cruz and Clint Quitugua with 27 each.
Hideo is also tied for third with the most runs batted in with 34 together with Eric Palacios. Maratita is tied in fourth place with John Taitano with 28 each. First place is J.J. Laniyo with 39 and Jeff Cruz is second with 36.
In other results, the most triples made went to Lefty Shiro with six; Ben Mesa followed with five, Mike Tomokane with four, tied with three are Derrick Sasamoto, John Taitano, Mark Villagomez, and Suo Matsutaro, and tied with two are Clint Quitugua, Joe Lizama, Paul Salalila, and Jeff Cruz.
