Redmen smacks Salty Boys, 26-11

Ngaraard Redmen smacked the Salty Boys into oblivion in their 26-11 game last Sunday in the continuation of the 2022 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association League at the DanDan Softball Field. 

The Boys, who have yet to notch a win this season, started off the game with four runs as they tried to clinch at least one W. However, the Redmen had the upper hand as just two innings in, they already scored 10 runs.

The Boys’ pitcher could not handle the outbreak of hits and his batters could not catch up either once the floodgates burst wide open in the fourth inning when the Redmen brought in seven runs.

Ton Pangelinan scored the Redmen’s lone homerun and brought in three RBIs. Teammate Mike Tomokane brought in a whopping seven RBIs. 

In the end, despite the Boys’ efforts, they tasted defeat once again through the 10-run mercy rule as they were handed their 15th loss in as many games. The Redmen’s record is now 8-6.
 
Hagu La’mun 21, Momma Charo 8
Hagu La’mun defeated Momma Charo, 21-8 in another mercy-ruled game.

Hagu La’mun wasted no time as they made the first inning a 15-run inning. Meanwhile, Momma Charo only had seven runs by the end of the second inning.

Joe Celis led the La’mun with his two home runs that brought in four RBIs.

It was all she wrote as the game ended when Momma Charo could only put up one more run against La’mun’s six more.

Hagu Lamun improved to 10-5, while Momma Charo dropped to 6-9.

Asahi 13, Peleliu 4
Asahi spun Peleliu around as they beat them, 13-4.

Asahi pitcher Dominic Hideo’s lucky number was four that day as he dominated and shut down Peleliu with four scoreless innings and only had four runs against him.

Hideo’s offense provided the winning ammunition as they brought in five runs in the second inning, six runs in the fifth inning, and one run each in two innings.

With this win, Asahi is now at 8-7 and Peleliu is at .500 at 7-7.
 
Sufa 9, Tokahao 6
Tokahao and Sufa broke their tie in the standings when the former defeated the latter, 9-6. 

It was a tough battle against the pitcher’s mound as both offenses couldn’t catch a break with two scoreless innings from Sufa and four for Tokahao.

However, Sufa found a chip in Tokahao’s pitching during the third inning to score six runs. Sufa managed to score three more and secure the win.

Sufa remained atop the standings at 11-4, while Tokahao remained at 10 wins while getting marked with its fifth loss.

Man Amigos 11, Aimeliik 4

Aimeliik almost could not hit against Man Amigos as they went scoreless in five innings. They only scored three of their four runs in the third inning. 

Man Amigos’ Pete Sablan and Eric Palacios scored a home run each and brought in five of the 11 runs for the team.

The Amigos are at 10 wins and four losses, while Aimeliik is at 3-11.
