6 tabulating machines are calibrated

All six tabulating machines that will be used in the Nov. 8 general elections have already been calibrated by a technician from Nebraska-based Election Systems & Software, according to the Commonwealth Election Commission Tuesday.
CEC executive director Kayla S. Igitol said the technician came last Oct. 13 and serviced the tabulating machines to make sure they’re all calibrated properly.
“They’re all good for election day,” said Igitol, referring to the two big scanner/tabulating machines and four smaller scanner/tabulating machines.
She said the technician worked in the afternoon and came back the following morning to make sure all the machines were running well.

“[The technician] made sure that all the rollers that pull in the ballots are working right. He cleaned it. He calibrated it,” Igitol said.
She said another site support staff from ES&S will be coming either on Nov. 4 or 7 for the tabulation of ballots on Nov. 8 at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe.
The executive director said the four big machines will be used to tabulate the ballots at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center, while the four smaller machines will be used only on Tinian and Rota to conduct the preliminary count of votes on those islands.
