Tanapag Middle School 1 and Saipan Community School are undefeated in Group A of the 2022-2023 NMIFA-PSS Interscholastic Soccer League after winning their games last Thursday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

The Tatagas faced off with Hopwood Middle School 2 and shut them down, 10-0.

The Hilitais were no match against the Tatagas’ prowess on the field as they were not able to see the back of the net for the entirety of the game.

Javen Camacho swept past the Hilitais’ goalkeeper to score the team’s first goal, just two minutes into the game. Camacho did not stop his reign of terror on the opposing team as he found the back of the net five more times for a total of six goals in the game.

Teammates Jayten Villagomez, Cris Albero, and Prince Espiritu jumped on the bandwagon as they scored the three other goals. Five goals were made in the first half and the other five were made in the second half.

TMS 1 consists of Cris Albero, Javen Camacho, Japhet Dino, Prince Espiritu, Jhack Guiao, Yutaka Kadokura, Ezekiel Meneses, Arkin Pajarillaga, Riku Takahashi, Roman Teigita, Rhayne Umali, and Jayten Villagomez.

The Tatagas and Guardians are both at two wins with no loss. HMS 2 has yet to win at three losses.

SCS 2, FMS 0
The last game of the day was dominated by Saipan Community School as they defeated Francisco M. Sablan Middle School, 2-0.

David Ye scored the first goal three minutes into the first half and David Ma’ase De Oro scored the second goal in the second half.

This loss brought FMS to one win and two losses in Group A.

The Guardians team includes Jin Choi, David Ma’ase De Oro, Soo Ho Jin, Daniel Malus, Raypatrick Mcdonald, Jose Sablan, Landon Springer, David Ye, and Richard Zhou.

The Northern Mariana Islands Football Association coordinates the 2022-2023 NMIFA-PSS Interscholastic Soccer League along with the Public School System Athletic Program.
