Keoni Rosario rose to the occasion in winning the Pewee ATV Class of Marianas Racing Association’s 2022 Monster Energy Point Series.

Rosario topped the division with 347 points, followed closely by Rockson Cabrera with his 341 points. Brooklyn Susulin completed the Top 3 with her 274.

Aboard his trusty Kayo Fox 70, the 9-year-old student from Garapan Elementary School said he still can’t believe he wound up with the No. 1 plate in the division during the Marianas Racing Association 2022 awards banquet held last Sept. 10 at the Pacific Islands Club Saipan.

“I was very excited and crying inside,” he said.

As for the secret for his success in the Pewee ATV Class, Rosario said he just tried to go full throttle all the time.

He also thanked his parents, Mark and Tenta Borja, for supporting his motocross hobby and being there for him all the time. Kudos also to sponsors Team Ericco and Guy Pudney of MARPAC and Pokka for believing in him, he said.

Rosario, who finished fifth place in the Mini ATV Class this season, got his first introduction into motocross when he rode a dirt bike in 2020 at the makeshift Kan Pacific race track.

He then gradually improved and competed in both the Pewee 1 Class and  Pewee ATV Class in the 2021 Monster Energy Point Series. He finished second overall in the latter.

The 2022 Monster Energy Point Series will serve as Rosario’s swan song in the Pewee ATV Class,
“I’m moving up to Mini Atv so I won’t be defending my championship,” he said.
