MIBL to hold first Fantasy Draft tourney in November

The Marianas International Basketball League will host its inaugural “Fantasy Draft” basketball tourney during the whole month of November.
The Fantasy Draft gives eight coaches a chance to handpick 10 players from a pool of 80, of whom will be disseminated over eight teams.
The games will be held at the Agape Christian School gym every Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 7pm and 8:30pm each day. Each team will be guaranteed to play a total of three games in the tourney.
The Top 4 teams will go to battle in the playoffs to determine the best two teams for the championship game.
Clint Albert, a representative for the MIBL, said about the tourney that “what’s exciting is the teams for the first time will have the chance to build their roster from scratch via the pool of draftees… Something like [the] NBA Draft.”
There already 70 players that signed up, but if they aren’t paid for yet by today, “we will open up another 10 slots and give a hard deadline and first to pay will secure their slots,” added Albert.
Registration and payment is needed to lock in your slot. For payments, you can visit the Eats Easy/The Game Athletics’ office from Mondays to Fridays from 9am to 7pm only, located in San Antonio just opposite the basketball court. It is on the 2nd floor, the same building as Buenas Cafe and Royal Poker. You can also send payments through paypal.
“We are still finalizing all the sponsors and if a company is interested they can contact us via our Facebook page (Marianas International Basketball League),” he said.
Prizes will be finalized but there will be medals awarded for the champions, an MVP award, and Mythical 5 award.
