Man Amigos remain perfect in BASA league

Man Amigos maintained its perfect run in the men’s division of the 2022 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association League after dispatching Ngaraard Redman, 9-3, last Sunday at the Dandan Softball Field.
After a scoreless first inning, Man Amigos and Ngaraard Redman remained tied at a run apiece after two innings of play. The former finally got separation on the latter after consecutive hits allowed Mark Toves and Vinnie Sablan to step on home plate to make the score, 3-1, in favor of Man Amigos.
The fifth inning was when the fireworks started for the Man Amigos as Ngaraard Redman’s defense finally gave way resulting in a five-run salvo that had James Fleming, Kent Kalen, Ben Pelisamen, Manny Sablan, and Peter Sablan all scoring to make it 9-1. Ngaraard Redman scored two inconsequential runs the rest of the game as it absorbed its second loss in four games, while Man Amigos continues to lord it over the win-loss column with a 4-0 card.
Hagu Lamun 17,
Sufa 12
Successfully keeping pace with Man Amigos is Hagu Lamun after they scored a come-from-behind 17-12 win against Sufa. After trailing 2-6 in the first inning and 5-8 in the third, Hagu Lamun managed to crowd Sufa, 10-11, in the fifth before leaning on a seven-run blast in the last inning to pull the victory from the jaws of defeat.
Tim Wesley, DeShawn Reign, Glen Camacho, Ray Tudela, Joe Celis, Henry Sablan, and Lo Cabrera all scored runs in the decisive seventh inning to carry Hagu Lamun to its third win in four games. The loss was the second in four tries for Sufa.
Tokehao 14, Asahi 2
Tokehao run-ruled Asahi, 14-2, en route to its third win in four games. Three runners crossed home plate in the first inning, two in the second, before Tokehao sealed the deal with nine more runs in the fourth and final inning. Asahi evened its win-loss record to 2-2 following the loss.
Peleliu 19,
Salty Boys 9
Peleliu reached .500 in the team standing after obliterating Salty Boys, 19-9. Joe Lizama, Mark Flores, Charlie Sablan, and Ben Hocog kicked off the rout with runs in the opening innings. Peleliu then closed the one-sided contest by scoring nine runs each in the sixth and seventh innings. The loss kept Salty Boys in the cellar with a 0-4 record.
