Min Soo “David” Kwon continued his comeback tour by winning his third straight game yesterday in the 2022 North Pacific Regional Championships at the Guam National Tennis Center in Dededo.

After losing to Jonothan Jackson in Day 2, Mt. Carmel School student beat Guam’s Ton Perez, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4, to advance in the boys 16 and under division.

“The Guam tournament is fun and tiring. I like playing off-island because I get to play with different players. Each player has a different play style and it’s hard to figure out their weaknesses but it always turns into a fun game where I make new friends. I always loved coming to Guam to play tennis and I am so glad I got to come again,” said Kwon.

The CNMI’s Simon Tang, meanwhile, lost to Jackson, 0-6, 1-6.

In the girls 16 and under, Serin Chung remained perfect following a 6-3, 6-2 win over Guam’s Amelie Terlaje.

They are duking it out against 16 players from Guam, six players from the Federated States of Micronesia, and five players from Palau.
