Skechers supports Team NMI in Mini Games

Skechers had a piece in Team NMI’s sports history, as the host country joined the parade of nations sporting the global lifestyle brand’s apparel during the opening ceremonies for the 2022 Northern Marianas Pacific Mini Games last weekend at the Oleai Sports Complex track oval.
Skechers provided the 124 NMI athletes and 27 officials track suits, parade shirts, shorts, socks, shoes, and caps for the sponsorship package amounting to around $80,000.
“Team NMI were thrilled when they opened their uniform packages to discover sleek fashionable attire in the latest styles. We were extra proud to march around the track in front of thousands of cheering fans at the opening of the Pacific Mini Games, knowing the distinctive uniforms made us visual standouts. For that, we thank Skechers for making us look awesome,” Team NMI chef de mission Bob Coldeen said.
The design of the Skechers-sponsored parade shirt and track suit tops of Team NMI came from local artist Pete Aldan. It featured the NMI iconic symbols like the sinahi (new moon), proa (sailing boat), and latte stones.
Team NMI is competing in the athletics, badminton, baseball, beach volleyball, gold, tennis, triathlon, va’a, and weightlifting events in the Mini Games from June 17 to 25. This is the first time that Team NMI, through the Northern Marianas Sports Association, has formed a partnership with a global brand.
