Kindergartners of the Eskuelan San Francisco de Borja proudly walked across the altar on May 22 in front of parents, families, and friends for their completion ceremony at the San Francisco de Borja Church.

The ceremony marked the completion of an important first step in the young students’ education.

Each student’s name was announced as he or she walked to the altar to receive a diploma from administrator/principal Carmen H. Atalig, and was congratulated by Rev. Fr. Charlie Borja, ESFDB board members Edward Maratita Jr., Estrella Mendiola and Lorenzo Barcinas, and ESFDB Parent Teacher Organization president Melanie Guiawan.

The ESFDB Kindergarten Class of 2014 was composed of Marco Edward B. Hocog, Diah A’Ina Q. Maratita, Edward U. Maratita III, and John Henry V. Tacud.

In addition special awards were handed out to the following students:

  • Marco Edward Hocog: Shining Star Award (Reading) and Saint Joseph Award.
  • Diah A’Ina Maratita: Shining Star Award (Reading), Most Improved Award and Saint Joseph Award.
  • Edward Maratita III: Super Reader Award (Reading) and Albert Einstein Award (Math).
  • John Henry Tacud: Star Reader Award (Reading) and Saint Joseph Award.

During the ceremony, the kindergarten students sang songs and each one was given the opportunity to say a few words of gratitude.

Administrator/principal and kindergarten class adviser Carmen H. Atalig had this to say to the parents: “I encourage you to stay involved and continue to provide great role models and great leadership for these young children as they go out and do great things over the next 12 years.”

Recognition Day

Prior to the graduation, students from pre-school and grades first to eighth were recognized for their accomplishments this school year 2013-2014.

Principals List, Honor Roll A & B, subject awards, and special awards were handed out to deserving students who achieved outstanding academic performance for the school year.

The administration, faculty, and staff would like to extend their appreciation to the parents, Rev. Fr. Charlie Borja, CNMI PSS board member Denise Tanya King, ESFDB board of directors, and PTO officers. (ESFDB)
