COVID UPDATE: 0 hospitalizations; 33 new cases

As of May 29, 2022, there were zero individuals hospitalized in the CNMI as a result of COVID-19. 
According to a Commonwealth Healthcare News release late Tuesday, there were zero new hospitalizations from May 23 to 29, 2022.

Also, 33 more individuals have been confirmed positive for COVID-19, bringing the CNMI total to 11,366 cases since March 28, 2020. 

Of the 33 cases, five were identified on May 23, 2022; three on May 24, 2022; seven on May 25, 2022; nine on May 26, 2022; eight on May 27, 2022; and one on May 28, 2022.

As of May 31, 2022, a total of 23,336 COVID-19 additional/booster vaccine shots have been administered; of the eligible population, 62.5% have received an additional dose. The vaccination rate is calculated using the 2020 Census population estimates for the CNMI and includes the eligible 5-years-old and older population. 

 A total of 1,719 COVID-19 tests were conducted May 23 – 29, 2022: 571 on May 23; 184 on May 24; 51 on May 25; 390 on May 26; 437 on May 27; 48 on May 28; and 38 on May 29.

Of the total number of cases identified in the CNMI, as of May 29, 2022, there have been 11,314 recoveries, 18 active cases, and 34 COVID-19-related deaths.
