Pride Month is just around the corner, and the NMI Democrats are out and proud. We are the party of diversity and inclusion, and the Democratic Party of the NMI cordially invites the public to join us for our Pride Mixer event at our party headquarters, located at the Quartermaster traffic light on Middle Road.

Join us on Friday, June, 3, 2022, at 4pm for a Pride roadside wave followed by a Pride Mixer at 5:30pm. Music, light refreshments, and free smiles will be available all night long.
“Queer representation in the political process is important,” said Democratic Party chair Jonathan Cabrera, “and that representation includes leadership and decision making in our party.”
Party vice chair Luella Marciano said, “For the first time in the history of the NMI Democratic Party, we have two party officers who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community. It’s an exciting time to be a Democrat!”

Party secretary Melia Johnson is proud of how much the NMI Democratic Party has evolved in the area of LGBTQIA+ representation: “Our party reflects the diversity of our human community and we are proud of that fact.”

Party treasurer Shawna Indalecio added, “We encourage the community to come out and meet their party members and elected officials who will be in attendance for the party’s first ever Pride event.”

“Looking to run for office? The Candidates Resource Packet is available on our website at www.nmidems.org. Candidate outreach is ongoing, and all interested and qualified individuals on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota are most definitely encouraged to reach out to us,” said Cabrera.
