The CNMI Public School System, in collaboration with the Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management, Department of Public Safety, and Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services, will be conducting a tsunami preparedness exercise drill tomorrow, May 10, 2022, at 9am for three public schools simultaneously: Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School, Admiral Herbert G. Hopwood Middle School, and Francisco M. Sablan Middle School.

The students and faculty of GTC will be making their way from the school across Chalan Pale Arnold Road and up along San Roque Drive to their assembly area, the San Roque Parish Church area.

The students and faculty of Hopwood Middle School will be making their way from the school across Beach Road and up along As Perdido Road to their assembly area, the CNMI DLNR Division of Parks & Recreation Office area.

The students and faculty of FMS Middle School will be making their way from the school along the southbound lane of Beach Road up to their assembly area, the NMIFA Soccer Training Facility area.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution as the students, faculty, and first responders conduct this school tsunami drill, and residents are also advised to secure any loose pets for student and faculty safety. “PSS, HSEM, DPS, and DFEMS would like to thank the community in advance for their patience as we work to prioritize student safety and emergency preparedness in the Marianas,” said a statement from the Office of the Governor.
